Re: Tuneup suggestions??

Pull and lube the center drive shaft CV joints. MOST IMPORTANT!
Plugs are a good idea, should be every 60K.
Change the idler pulley and the tensioner pulley as well. I recommend the G-wagenaccesories.com aluminum pulleys.
It is not a bad idea to swap out the crank position sensor and keep the used one as a known good spare (or just buy two of them)
Under the plastic engine cover, smaller front portion, there is a 2-3 mm hard plastic vacuum tube that can wear through and trigger fault codes and result in rough idle.

Re: Tuneup suggestions??

- Power steering oil and filter?
- Did you do the brake fluid in the differential locks?
- Check the content/fill the front axle shaft housing with grease. The specs when empty are 400 gram/1 tube each side.
- Check the wheel bearings for slack.
- Brake fluid within specs? Brake pads? No rust on brake lines?
- Inspect front and rear axle rubber bearings.
- Air condition service? New dryer if it towards full?
- Air condition treatment against bacteria, fungi and spores.
- Lubricate all moving contact points on brake calipers with ATE PlastiLube (also against squealing). 100.000 km service point.
- Injection treatment?
- Touch-up paint on chips and scratches. Use a sharp toothpick on the small chips!!
- small drop of lock-oil for ignition lock - use well known brand, even though MB says it is not necessary.

- Greasing needed point - Do you lubricate all door hinges, hood hinges, door locks, i.e any moving part that need oil? Buy some thin PTFE (Teflon) spray that thickens when the solvent evaporate. I lubricate wires/hood locks, pedal links, seat slides, etc.
- Use silicone oil to lubricate the doors rubber sealing.
- Refresh rubber parts on the body with some back to black stuff.
- Check your spare tire's air pressure.
- Check the weight of the battery fluid. Top-charge if necessary.
- Polish the car to remove the oxide in the paint - prevents rust etc.

Most important is to spend your weekends driving the car to interesting places, and then work on this stuff when the weather is not as nice
